About Us

We created SOAR because silence was no longer an option. Survivors deserve more than scattered resources, societal judgment, and systemic patriarchy and misogyny. They deserve clarity, compassion, and justice. SOAR was born from that conviction to break the silence, dismantle barriers, and build a world where survivors can heal, rise, and reclaim their power with dignity. Together, we are shaping a movement that transforms pain into power, and survivors into changemakers.

​We grew up in different worlds. One in a traditional home and the other in a liberal feminist household. Yet despite our different beginnings, we shared the same awakening: The world is divided unevenly in two—one side wide open for men, the other fenced in for women.

From a young age, girls are handed a script of don’ts - invisible walls built from warnings, restrictions, and fear:
“Don’t wear that.”
“Don’t go there.”
“Don’t speak too loudly.”

Every don’t was not just about safety. It was also about control, about keeping women small, quiet, and contained. 

We learned that women's freedom was conditional, our voices negotiable, and our existence monitored.

These constraints did not apply to men. The consequences were impossible to ignore: the unrelenting violence, and too often, a deafening silence that follows. 

We saw how these unspoken rules gave cover to harm, silenced survivors, and excused the inexcusable. We saw survivors ignored, blamed, and abandoned. We came to understand sexual violence is not random. It is the predictable outcome of a culture that normalises misogyny, protects perpetrators, and asks survivors to stay silent while injustice walks free.

Why We Founded SOAR
SOAR was born from that fire, from our shared outrage, our empathy, and our unwavering belief in the power of transformation.

We exist for survivors:

To turn pain into power and anger into action 
To challenge silence with truth
To confront stigma with solidarity
To make healing accessible and justice undeniable.

We acknowledge every survivor’s strength, wisdom and agency and we are here to honour and support their right to use this power for their wellbeing, at their pace and in their time.

We fight for a world where survivors are supported, and their voices heard. Because survival is just the beginning.

We believe in a world where every person can live free from fear, judgment, and discrimination—to heal, to rise, to SOAR.
