Our vision is of an India that is free from the shackles of patriarchy and misogyny and a nation that wholehertedly respects and champions the rights of women and the vulnerable. Through proactive education, advocacy and strategic collaboration with communities, institutions and policymakers, we aim to challenge and transform harmful behaviors that perpetuate sexual violence. We are commited to fostering a systemic shift towards a culture rooted in consent, empathy, accountability and gender equity. Together, we will build a future where every individual is valued, respected and empowered.
Our Mission
At our core, we are a catalyst organization with the sole purpose of providing unwavering support to survivors of sexual abuse. Our immediate goal is to offer you access to critical and comprehensive information on your rights, vital helplines and legal, medical and police resources. This is a safe and non-judgemental space to share your experiences and voice your opinions. Your voice matters to us and you are not alone. We stand with you with deep respect and steadfast commitment, to support you in whatever path you wish to take in order to heal and thrive.
SOAR is a survivor-centered trauma-informed initiative dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual assault in India with clear, trusted information in a safe and non-judgmental space.
There remains a critical information gap: the absence of a single, reliable resource that focuses on survivors. Too often, survivors are left to navigate fragmented information while coping with trauma, fear, stigma, silence, and a justice system marked by low conviction rates. SOAR exists to bridge this gap. We believe that access to accurate information is a form of power, especially when everything else may feel uncertain. With SOAR we bring together essential resources in one place, including legal rights, emergency helplines, critical medical guidance, police procedures, and other credible support pathways. These resources ensure survivors can make informed choices at their own pace and on their own terms.
Beyond individual support, SOAR is committed to long-term systemic change. We challenge misinformation, confront harmful narratives, amplify survivor voices, and promote greater awareness across institutions and communities. We collaborate with legal experts, medical professionals, civil society organisations, and advocates to ensure our resources remain credible, current, and responsive to lived realities.

Through knowledge, empathy, and evidence-informed action, we strive to transform mindsets, challenge systemic gender bias, and contribute to a safer, more just, and accountable ecosystem.

Our Story
We created SOAR because silence was no longer an option. Survivors deserve more than scattered resources, societal judgment, and systemic patriarchy and misogyny. They deserve clarity, compassion, and justice. SOAR was born from that conviction to break the silence, dismantle barriers, and build a world where survivors can heal, rise, and reclaim their power with dignity. Together, we are shaping a movement that transforms pain into power, and survivors into changemakers.
​We grew up in different worlds. One in a traditional home and the other in a liberal feminist household. Yet despite our different beginnings, we shared the same awakening: The world is divided unevenly in two—one side wide open for men, the other fenced in for women.
From a young age, girls are handed a script of don’ts - invisible walls built from warnings, restrictions, and fear:
“Don’t wear that.”
“Don’t go there.”
“Don’t speak too loudly.”
Every don’t was not just about safety. It was also about control, about keeping women small, quiet, and contained.
We learned that women's freedom was conditional, our voices negotiable, and our existence monitored.
These constraints did not apply to men. The consequences were impossible to ignore: the unrelenting violence, and too often, a deafening silence that follows.
We saw how these unspoken rules gave cover to harm, silenced survivors, and excused the inexcusable. We saw survivors ignored, blamed, and abandoned. We came to understand sexual violence is not random. It is the predictable outcome of a culture that normalises misogyny, protects perpetrators, and asks survivors to stay silent while injustice walks free.

SOAR was born from that fire, from our shared outrage, our empathy, and our unwavering belief in the power of transformation.

These technologies enable organisations to build multilingual and voice-first applications across websites, documents, mobile applications, digital services and other platforms.
